This is to announce the creation in January, 2003, of a listserv for educational technologists and other educators who have an interest in the use of two-way interactive videoconferencing in K-12 schools and school districts. It is sponsored and supported by the three RTECs which developed this web site, and it is located at SCRTEC in Austin, Texas. The list contains over 200 people with a wide variety of interests, of which about half attended the symposium described elsewhere in this site.

We have formed this list as an avenue for dissemination and continued collegial interaction regarding the K-12 implications and uses of interactive videoconferencing (IVC). Major issue areas resulting from the symposium will be addressed, including policy, access, research and content to name a few. Other topics will be generated as experience with IVC expands. Initial message traffic on the listserv has described many opportunities for participation in activities for elementary and secondary schools, and suggests a high interest in sharing and collaboration, and in the development of new content.

Any educator having an interest in participating in the interactions on this list is encouraged to join by sending an e-mail message indicating your interest to Dr. Marilyn Heath, mheath@sedl.org

We welcome your participation.
